Joseph William “Joe” Hatt, 84, formerly of Waynetown died at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday May 15, 1966 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. Mr. Hatt was born July 26, 1911 in Waynetown. His marriage was to Melvie M. Miller, Nov 28, 1934. She preceded him in death. He attended Waynetown HS and was former owner of Joe Hatt Trucking Co. He also was an an Indianapolis Star carrier and former security guard at Aldens Industries and Rogers Dye Mill in Georgia. Mr. Hatt was a member of the United Brethren Church. Surviving are two sons, Charles Hatt of Calhoun, GA and John Hatt of Shannon, Ga; a daughter, Linda Butler of Oxford; 7 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren and six great stepgreat grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, and a son-in-law, Virgil Butler. Visitation was Friday at Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown. Service there on Saturday with Rev. Lawrence Rainwater and Kenny Vance officiating. Interment in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – kbz
