Madge Hathaway, 69, of Cayuga, Ind, formerly of Danville and Newport, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday Oct 12, 1997 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Aug 26, 1928 in Rockville, the daughter of Lee and Telsa Crowder Pearman. She first married Deward C. Redenbaugh on July 14, 1951 at Newport. He died August 3, 1970. She later married Paul L. Hathaway May 13, 1971 at Newport. He died Dec 2, 199. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene (Bob) Carey of Covington a stepson Stephen (Jill) Hathaway of Terre Haute; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and two sisters. Madge retired as a beautician after operating a beauty salon in her home in Danville for 10 years and Cayuga for 20 years. She attended Newport Grade and HS. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Danville, Ill where she had been a member since 1968. She was past vice president of the Covington Women’s Aglow Fellowship, former member of Newport American Legion Auxiliary Post #184. She enjoyed crafts and needle work. Visitation was Wednesday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga. Service there on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Rogers officiating. Interment in Thomas Cemetery, Newport. - kbz
