COVINGTON – Homer Hathaway, 76-year-old lifetime resident and farmer of Fulton Township, Fountain County, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since Dec. 4. A son of Monroe and Rennie Bodine Hathaway, he was born Nov. 1, 1891. He lived all his life in the house in which he was born. Mr. Hathaway was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ, south of Covington. He served as township trustee from 1934 to 1938. He was married to Ola Richards on Sept. 6, 1918. She survives at Kingman Rt. 2 with two sons, Richard of Kingman Rt. 2 and Billy of Thorntown Rt. 2; one grandson, and one sister, Mrs. Ada Schwab of Rockville. He was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Gale McKinley officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.--waw
