Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Rossville, Ill., for Dorothy M. Hathaway, 80 of Williamsport. She died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville.
The Rev. Robert Huxtable officiated. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville.
A resident of Rossville until she moved to Williamsport 13 years ago, she was a nurse’s aide at Danville’s tuberculosis sanitarium for many years and also worked as a private nurse’s aide. She enjoyed quilting.
Born March 23, 1904, in Homer, Ill., she was a daughter of Morris and Julia Kreis Strong.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Wilson, Williamsport, and Mrs. William (Barbara) Sullivan of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Strong and Ralph Strong of Centralia, Wash.
She was preceded in death by a sister, three brothers and one grandchild. The family has requested that memorials be in the form of contributions to the cancer fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice. - S
