Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Danville, Ill. -- Mrs. Alice Hasty, age 100, formerly of Cayuga and Perrysville, died at 3 a.m. Monday, March 18, at the Soldiers and Sailors Widows Home in Lafayette. She had been a patient there 30 years. When Mrs. Hasty turned 100 last July, she received a special citation from President Kennedy. She was born July 14, 1862 in Silverwood, just east of Cayuga, the daughter of Thornton and Elizabeth Wann Thompson. Mrs. Hasty first worked at the Meis Bros. Dry Goods Store in Danville in 1900. In 1910 she opened her own hat shop in Silverwood. Her first husband, Edward Jones, who died in 1922, had farmed in the Perrysville community where she spent most of her life. Her second husband, John W. McMullen, preceded her in death. She then married Jene Hasty and he died in September, 1959. Mrs. Hasty was a member of the Waterman Baptist Church of Lodi. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. today, Wednesday, at the Berhalter Funeral Home. Burial was in Atherton Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
