MISS ELIZA HARVEY, died at the home of Wm. Cates and wife in this place early Wednesday morning from an attack of apoplexy. She was a woman about 64 years old and was never married.  Some time ago realizing her great need of some one to care for her, she chose the home of Mr. Cates as her abode and she spent the remaining years of her life.   She leaves two sisters, Mrs. John Marshall of New Market and Mrs. Geo. Hayworth of Tangier, besides a host of friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services will be conducted this (Friday) morning at 10 o’clock from the Christian church by Rev. Kelley afterwhich the remains will be laid to rest in the Rush Creek cemetery.

ELIZA, daughter of LEVI AND ANNA HARVEY, was born Jan. 14 1844, Died Dec 2 1908.   Of her four sisters and one brother, two sisters survive her, namely:  Mrs. Hannah Haworth and Mrs. Ann Marshall. Deceased has been a devoted member of the Christian church since Oct 11, 1872, having received the rite of baptism at that time.  She has been an invalid for six years, during which time, especially the latter part, she often expressed the desire to depart and be with Jesus, “Lida” as she was familiarly called, was of  a quiet unassuming disposition, always energetic and may be classed among those of whom Dorcas, of old, was a type. - s
