Mr. JP Hartman father of SS Hartman residing at 230 E 26th St, died at his home in Veedersburg, Ind yesterday.  Mr. Hartman, Sr is 80 years old and in all probability death was due to old age but the telegram received did not state the actual cause of his demise. He had been suffering for some time and his death was not entirely unexpected. The dead man has been a resident of this county since 1873 up to 10 years ago after which he left for his old home in Indiana.  Three children survive Mr. Hartman, one son, SS residing in this city, JP in Seattle and a daughter, Mrs. MA Torger also residing in Seattle. The funeral services will be held from the residence of Mr. SS Hartman Sunday and it is most likely that both daughter and son from Seattle will be present, although no definite word has been received from Mrs. Torger. The body will arrive in this city Sunday.  The exact hour of the funeral will be announced in the paper on that day.

Note: He is buried in Kearney Cemetery, Buffalo County, Nebraska – born 12 April 1832 in Fountain County died there 22 March 1911Pvt 63rd Regt Indiana Infantry Co K  son of John Peter Hartman 1802-1885 and Sarah Catherine Day 1805-1889
