Crawfordsville, March 8 – Joseph W. Hartley, retired farmer, died Monday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. FM McClelland, after a serious illness of but one day. He was born near Newtown and married in 1881, at Hillsboro to Emma Brown. Five sons and two daughters survive. - transcribed by kbz
