Veedersburg -- Mrs. Elva B. Hartley, age 81, a resident of Wabash Township, Veedersburg Rt. 2, for 28 years, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington where she had been a patient since Aug. 8, 1962. Mrs. Hartley was born Dec. 19, 1881 in Vermilion County, Ill., and her mother was Dora Gritten. She was married Dec. 25, 1901 to Obie E. Hartley and he preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1962. Before moving to Wabash Twp., Mrs. Hartley had resided in the Danville and Hoopeston, Ill., areas. She was a member of the Veedersburg Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Roderick of Lafayette and Mrs. Florence Strawser of Santa Ana, Calif.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a half-brother, Marion Dengler of Lincoln, Ill. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at the ….(the rest missing) --typed by Walt W
