VEEDERSBURG — Jack F. Hart, 84,
Veedersburg, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 in Monticello Health Care.
He was born Oct. 12, 1922 in Huntington County, the son of Glen and Voleta
(Felton) Hart. He married Edna Joanne Harvey June 30, 1946 in Huntington. She
preceded in death Feb. 22, 2005. He served in the U. S. Army during world war
II, serving in Sicilian, Normandy, Northern France, Germany, and the European
African Middle Eastern Campaigns. He received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct
Ribbon and Four Bronze Campaign Stars. He was a school teacher and football
coach, retiring from Fountain Central High School in 1985. He attended Indiana
University and received his masters degree from Western Michigan University. He
was member of the Huntington American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include: three sons, Ronald (Diane) Hart, Buchanan, Mich., Jeffrey
(Julie) Hart, Monon, and Kevin (Julia) Hart, Monticello; a sister-in-law,
Dorothy Hart, Cloverdale; and four grandchildren. He was also preceded in death
by a brother, Gene Hart. Gravesite services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Rockfield
Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Dickerson Funeral Home,
Veedersburg, was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials may be made to
the Sterling Christian Church or the Friends of the Library. – jlr
