Veedersburg - Mrs. Flora (Lang) Harrold, 89, a life-long resident here died of pneumonia at midnight Thursday in her home. Her health had been failing for several years. She was the widow of Thomas Harrold and a member of Osborne's Prairie Church. Surviving are two sons, Alva and Fred both of Veedersburg; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Jackson, Chandler, Okla; Dorothy Brown, Okenah, Okla; Mrs. Orilla Murray, Veedersburg and Mrs. Sadie Ply, Tulsa, Okla. - kbz
Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Harrold were held Sunday afternoon April 3rd at Parham Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Owen officiating. She was born north of Veedersburg on Jan 13, 1866, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Stevens Lang. Surviving are two sons, Fred and Alva of Veedersburg; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Jackson of Chandler, Okla; Mrs. Dorothy Brown of Okemah, Okla; Mrs. Orilla Murray of Veedersburg and Mrs. Sadie Phy of Tulsa, Okla; and a brother, Clyde Lang of Veedersburg. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. – kbz
Mrs. Flora Harrold, 89, life resident of Veedersburg died at her home shortly after midnight April 1, 1955. Mrs. Harrold, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Stevens Lang was born on a farm two miles north of Veedersburg on Jan 13, 1866. She attended school at Mount Nebo which was located on the farm of her birth and became a member of the Osborn’s Prairie Christian Church early in her youth. She was married to Thomas Harrold in 1890 and all of their six children survive. They are two sons, Alva Harrold whose home address is Veedersburg and Fred Harrold who also lives here; four daughters: Mrs. Nellie Jackson of Chandler, Okla; Mrs. Dortha Brown of Okemah, Okla; Mrs. Orilla Murray of Veedersburg; Mrs. Sadie Phy of Tulsa, Okla; a brother, Clyde Lang of Veedersburg also survives and she had 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Parham Funeral Home at 2 p.m. April 3 with Rev. Richard Owen officiating.
