HARRIS, Ralph - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Newtown -- Ralph Harris, 73, retired Lafayette barber and native and former resident of this community died at 4 p.m. Saturday (20 June 1970) at his home after an illness of 5 years. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Harris and was born April 22, 1897. He was married in 1918 to Carolyn Miller, who survives. Mr. Harris opearted a barber shop here for 20 years. The family moved to Lafayette in 1940 and was a barber there until he retired in 1963. Surviving besides his wife are a son, James of Erie, PA two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Esther) Broom of Miami, Fl and Mrs. Mary K. Wright of Erie, 9 grandchildren, a brother Mont of Prescott, Ark and sister, Mrs. Martha Oliver of Texarkana, Ark. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sollar-Baker Funeral Home in Lafayette where friends may call 5-9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial in Waynetown Cemetery.
