HARRIS, Donald D. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Donald D. Harris of Covington, age 65, died Monday morning, June 22, at his home. He was born in Danville, Illinois, July 24, 1915, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Chezem Harris. December 25, 1942,he married Mona Bryant, who survives. Harris was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the Covington American Legion. He owned and operated Don’s Auto Service in Danville since 1961 and was a mechanic-carburetor specialist. He had also been employed by Harden Motor Company of Covington, Bendix Aviation in Wayne, Michigan, and Leverenz Automotives in Danville.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Ann Cavanaugh of Indianapolis; a son, Ed of Lafayette, Louisiana; and two sisters, Mrs. Lois Simons and Mrs. Roberta Lynch, both of RR 2, Covington.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Robert H. Miller officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
