Mrs. Emma Harper, 84, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Small Nursing Home at Waynetown where she had been a patient one year. Mrs. Harper was born July 21, 1869 in Thorntown, daughter of Isaac M. and Elizabeth Allen Ellis. She was married to William Neff who died and then to Bert Harper who also preceded her in death. She was the first telephone operator at Veedersburg. Surviving are two stepsons, Paul and Clarence Harper of Detroit; three nieces, Mrs. June Holmes of Veedersburg, Mrs. Helen Carson and Mrs. Margaret Bollinger, both of Battle Creek, Mich; two nephews, Russell Sage and Charles Ellis of Kansas City, Mo. The body is at the Fishero Funeral Home where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Christian Science services will be given by Hugh Miller, reader. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery.
