HARGIS, George Allen

George Allen Hargis, 63, 25 Ross Avenue, Williamsport, died at Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill., Jan. 5, at 4:30 a.m.. He had been ill the last four years.
He was born in Carthage, Tenn. Nov. 29, 1921, the son of E. V. and Daisy Woodward Carver. He had lived in Nashville, Tenn. And Attica before moving to Williamsport 14 years ago. He formerly worked at R.M.C., Attica, and was a tack welder at Myers Steel Fabricating Co., Attica. He attended school in Nashville, Tenn. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was married July 10, 1964, in Lafayette, to DeLois Greenup, who survives.
Surviving, besides the wife are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Mary Ruth) Inman, Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. Wayne (Barbara) Morrison, Franklin, Tenn. and Mrs. William (Patricia) Pomeroy, Rocky Mountain, N.C.; one son, Gary Hargis, Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. R. W. (Willa Mae) Woody, Madison, Tenn.; his father, Carthage, Tenn. And eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Romney. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the lung or cancer society. ā thanks so very much to āSā
