HARDY, Theodore - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Theodore Hardy of RR 1, Covington, age 80, died Wednesday morning, March 18, at his home. He was born at Jerseyville, Illinois, February 9, 1901, the son of Frank and Frances Rusk Hardy. February 24, 1924, he married Roxie M. Grubb, who died January 17, 1971. A member of the Covington First Church of Christ, he had been a farmer most of his life, worked as a mechanic, repaired and sold bicycles and worked with bees.

  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Brentlinger of Flora, Illinois, Mrs. Reva Hawkins of Dix, Illinois, and Mrs. Martha Ratcliff of RR 2, Kingman; a son, Robert of RR 3, Covington; a brother, Frank of Jerseyville; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the First Church of Christ in Covington with Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in charge. Rev. Murray Strange officiated and burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
