HILLSBORO — Mildred Lucille Harding, 85, 1588 Twin Lakes Road, Hillsboro, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 in South Street Healthcare Center, Lafayette. She was born July 28, 1915 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Claude G. and Tina Elizabeth Clark Harding. She was raised in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. She formerly lived in Indianapolis where she worked as a secretary for General Motors, moving back to Hillsboro when she retired in 1975. She was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, serving many years as church treasurer; Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Hillsboro and a member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR). Survivors include: a sister, Hilda Hoffman, Indianapolis; a brother, Paul Harding, Vellajo, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Betty Harding, Attica; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Harding. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Pastor Rob Rixman officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Fountain County. – jlr
