HARDESTY, Zella Royce

Mrs. Zella R. Hardesty, 81, resident of Covington most of her life, died Sunday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Fred Mayhew in Detroit.  She had been ill six months.
Mrs. Hardesty was the wife of the late John R. Hardesty, former county sheriff.  She was born August 24, 1875, the daughter of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Davis Royce.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mayhew and Mrs. Thomas Hankins of Veedersburg, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Manley Richardson of Covington, and Mrs. Nora Briner of Sterling.
Services were held at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. G. Elwood Anderson officiating.  Burial was in Snoddy Cemetery near Stringtown.  - jz
