Funeral services for Frost Revere Harden, age 76, of 302 Fifth St., Covington, who died at 11:55 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 29, in the First Presbyterian Church in Covington. Dr. J. Dayton McCormick, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church of Lafayette, officiated. The Hegg Funeral Home of Covington was in charge of arrangements and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery here. Mr. Harden was born Feb. 7, 1889 in Catlin, Ill., the son of Eugene Morton and Dora Kistler Harden. He came to Covington with his parents when he was three months old, attended the Covington Public Schools and became a successful business man. He was married to Cecil Murray on Dec. 22, 1914 in Covington. In Sept. 1917, Mr. Harden became Covington's Ford Dealer and his showrooms and garage were located where Clasen's Chevrolet-Buick now is. He later moved to the corner of Third and Liberty Sts., where the Fountain County Hardware now is located. Twenty years after Mr. Haden started selling Fords, he built the building, now owned and occupied by Allen's Pontiac-Oldsmobile, at 408 Liberty St. He held the Ford, dealership for over 33 years, retiring in 1950. Prior to becoming a Ford dealer, Mr. Harden was a barber and was associated with Edward Albea for 12 years. Since his retirement in 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Harden resided in Washington, D. C., while Mrs. Harden represented the Indiana Sixth Congressional District for 10 years and served as Special Assistant to the Postmaster General for two and one-half years, during the Eisenhower Administration. Mr. Harden also devoted much time to travel and the enjoyment of his hobby, flower and vegetable gardening. Mr. Harden was a 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge and a 50-year member of the Fountain County Masonic Lodge, F&AM, and Troy Chapter 145, Order of Eastern Star, of Covington. He was a member of Scottish Rite Commandery of Crawfordsville and the Murat Temple Shrine of Indianapolis. For many years he served as Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Covington. He was a devoted husband and father and never was happier than when he was helping others. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are: one son, Dr. Murray E. Harden and his wife, Marjorie Milligan Harden; three grandchildren, Judy, Timothy and Thomas; one brother, O. C. Harden of Tolono, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Claude (Cleta) Williams of Attica and Mrs. Frank E. (Patience) Servies of Covington; and several nieces and nephews. The Covington community has lost a valuable citizen, and a host of friends join with his family in mourning their loss.  --typed by Walt W
