Covington—Peter E. Hanson, 75, Covington, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Covington Manor Health Care Center.
He was born July 31, 1913 at Yankton, S. D., the son of Peter and Alma Victoria Olson Hanson. He had been a resident of Covington since 1969, and a former resident of the Kingman area, Veedersburg, Addison, Ill., South Dakota and Minnesota.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Fulton-Banta Post 291 of the American Legion. He operated an upholstery shop for several years and enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Newman, Danville; a son, Peter E. Jr., Covington; two sisters, Florence Coats, Stayton, Ore., and Hilda Qualey, Covington, a brother, Edwin, Polson, Mont., and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral services will be there at 11 a.m. Thursday with Jack S. Palmer officiating.
