HANSON, Alma Olson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Alma V. Hanson of Covington, age 96, died Tuesday afternoon, January 4, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville, Illinois. She was born in Volin, South Dakota, February 17, 1886, the daughter of Rev. Albert and Phoebe Fauske Olson. May 2, 1907, she married Peter Hanson at Yankton, South Dakota. He died August 22, 1965. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and had lived in Minnesota, Chicago and Danville, Illinois before moving to Covington 13 years ago.

  Survivors include two daughters, Florence Coats of Bend, Oregon, and Hilda Qualey of Covington; three sons, Edwin Hanson of Polson, Montana, Peter Hanson of Covington and Dean Benson of Chicago; a brother, Carl Olson of Northbrook, Illinois; 15 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. J. Briggs King officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
