HANKINS, Monroe - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Monroe Hankins, 82, who had spent his life in the Veedersburg community, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday April 1 in the Vermillion County Nursing Home, Danville, Ill.  He had been critically ill for 10 days but had been in failing health the last two years.  He was born Feb 1, 1869, near Veedersburg, the son of Clayborn and Susan Wilson Hankins.  A brother, Sam of Veedersburg and several nephews and nieces survive.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wed at Cooper’s Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert Todd of Veedersburg. Burial took place in the Cooper’s Chape cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge - kbz
