VEEDERSBURG — Harry V. Hankins, 67, of Rt. 2, Veedersburg, died suddenly at his home at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. He had been an owner and trainer of harness horses for 40 years. He was a member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge, Illinois Horseman's Association and United States Trotting Association. Mr. Hankins was married to Vivian Mettee Jan. 18, 1923. She survives. He was born May 4, 1905, in Fountain County, a son of Homer and Amelia Leath Hankins. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Jack of Rt. 2, Veedersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Holycross of Rt. 1, Rockville; five sisters, Mrs. Etoral Ferguson of Marshall, Mrs. Fauniel Booe of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Mary Crane of Haines City, Fla., Mrs. Barbara McFadden of Jersey City, N.J., and Mrs. Marie O'dell of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Burial will be in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.  --typed by Walt W
