Covington, Ind. (CNS) —Ruth Ann Hancock, 37, of Covington, died at 12:30 p. m. yesterday (Aug. 29, 1966) at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica. She had been a patient there since July 12 and had been ill four years. Born March 9, 1929, at Covington, she was the daughter of Mahlon and Pearl Wilson Hancock. She was a member of the Fountain Christian Church at Portland Arch and formerly had been employed at the Alward Nursing Home for two years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Birge of Champaign; her mother and step father, Oliver D. and Pearl Hutson of Covington; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Freeman of Attica, Mrs. Vera Mae Knowling of Roachdale, Mrs. Betty Ponder of Covington and Miss Jennie Hancock of Veedersburg; three brothers, William Hancock of Veedersburg, James and Curtis, both of Covington; two step sisters, Mrs. Alma Adams of Lafayette and Mrs. Mary Potter of New Richmond; and four step brothers, John Hutson of Tacoma, Wash., Wesley C. of Grand Ledge, Mich., Kenneth of Danville and James D. of Covington. She was preceded in death by her father in 1936. Services will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. The body is at the funeral home. --typed by Walt W

Funeral services for Ruth Hancock, age 37, of Covington, who died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. She was born March 9, 1929 on the Aldridge farm near Covington, the daughter of Mahlon and Pearl Wilson Hancock. She had been employed at the Alward Nursing Home for two years. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Birge of Champaign, Ill.; her mother and stepfather, Oliver D. and Pearl Hutson of Covington; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Freeman of Attica, Mrs. Vera Mae Knowling of Roachdale, Mrs. Betty Ponder of Covington and Miss Jennie Hancock of Veedersburg; three brothers, William Hancock of Veedersburg and James and Curtis Hancock, both of Covington; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Ruth Ann Hancock, age 37, a life resident of the Covington community, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, in the Alward Nursing Home in Attica, where she had been a patient since July 12. She had been in ill health four years. She was born in Covington March 9, 1929, the daughter of Mahlon and Pearl Wilson Hancock.
