Funeral services
for Edith Hancock, 68, of R. 4, Veedersburg (Stone Bluff) who passed
away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. were held at the Maus Funeral Home
in Attica Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Fuller officiating. Interment
followed in Osborn Prairie Cemetery west of Stone Bluff.
Those who served
as pallbearers were Loren Haas, Leroy Widmer, James Phillips, Luther Phillips,
John Anderson and Randy Janssen. -s

Mrs. Edith Hancock, 68, of the Stone Bluff community on Veedersburg Route 4 died Wednesday Feb. 23, 1977 at her home. A life resident of the area, Mrs. Hancock, was born April 12, 1908, 1n Veedersburg, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Boyer. She was married Aug. 15, 1928, to Arch Hancock, who died Sept. 3, 1970. She had been employed as a nurses aide at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica and the Tall Trees Nursing Home in Covington. She was a graduate of Veedersburg High and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Newtown where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. Survivors include a grandson, Dale Gust of Stone Bluff, who was reared in her home; a step daughter, Mrs. Wilma Gust of Michigan City; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Nichols of Lafayette and Mrs. Mabel Hosue of LaPorte; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica. The Rev. David Fuller officiated. Burial in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery at Stone Bluff. – jlr
