LAFAYETTE — Billie Ruth (McGee) Hamilton, 71, Lafayette, died at 10:10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She was born Oct. 8, 1935 in Maxwell, Tenn., the daughter of Robert F. and Rena M. (Gifford) McGee. She married Norman R. Hamilton June 16, 1974 in Danville. Ill. He survives. She and her husband lived in Fountain and Warren counties for many years before moving to Lafayette in 2004. They owned a restaurant in Pine Village. She was also a caregiver for several years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Covington. She liked reading and enjoyed doing her Bible studies. She catered to her home life and enjoyed her grandchildren. Survivors, besides the husband, include: a son, Daryl Wayne Jackson, Pine Village; a daughter, Sandra Ann Hammond, West Lafayette; four brothers, John “Bo” (Norma) McGee, Tennessee, David (Linda) McGee, Cowan, Tenn., Dennis McGee, Fayetteville, Tenn., and Frank (Sandra) McGee, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Barbara McGee, Huntland, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Billie Ruth (Christopher) Jackson, Ashley Dawn (Jason) Jasper, and Amanda Jo Goodnight; two grandsons, Norman Long and Mark Hamilton; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ellen Haggard; and three brothers, infant Donnie McGee, Howard McGee and Bob McGee. Funeral services were at 7 p.m. Monday in Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, with Pastor Mike Harville officiating. Private family interment services will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation. – jlr
