COVINGTON — Walter Glen Hambright, 66, Indianapolis, died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002 in Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. He was born April 3, 1936 near Pine Village, the son of George W. and Esther S. (Cook) Hambright. He graduated from Perrysville High School in 1958. He served eight years in the U. S. Army during the Korea era. He resided in Perrysville and Covington most of his life and had been a resident of Indianapolis eight years. He retired from Heatcraft after 26 years and was employed at Paul Harvey Ford the past two years. He was a former Covington City Councilman. He coached girls' softball at Covington. He was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle in Indianapolis. Survivors include: a daughter, Glenda (Tim) Murray, Indianapolis; a brother, Thomas Eugene (Ginger) Hambright, Perrysville; a sister, Effie (Melvin) Goodwin, Monticello, Ky.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Warren Lee. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev John Brown officiating. Burial was in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery Memorials requested to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross. – jlr
