Waynetown IN -- Oral J. Hallett, 67 of Waynetown Rt 1, died early Saturday February 19, 1972 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Born December 9, 1904 he was the son of Charles & Gertrude Summers Hallett. He was married November 16, 1949 to Louise Leonard Thompson, who survives. Mr. Hallett had been a farmer and had resided on his present farm since 1936. He was a graduate of Wallace High School and Brown Business College, Danville. He was a member of the Scotts Prairie Community Church, southwest of Hillsboro, Wallace Masonic Lodge 495; OES 415 and Low 12 Club. He had been a director of the Montgomery County Coop several years and active in the Alamo Boosters Club. Other survivors include his mother of Waynetown; 3 daughters, Mrs. Lora Nichols of Alamo; Mrs. Connie Rutledge, Waynetown and Ruth Ann at home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Weir of Whitesville; a brother, Lacy of near Crawfordsville; 8 grandchildren; two uncles and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1956. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.
