North Bend, Ore – Daniel B. Hall, a well known resident of this city and father of John Hall, former chief of police here died at the home of his son last week of apoplexy after a lingering illness. Mr. Hall was 86 years old and was born in Fountain County, Indiana. He was an old resident of Oregon having crossed the plains with an ox team in 1852 and settled near Sherwood, Oregon where he engaged in farming until about 5 years ago when he moved to this city where he has resided since. He is survived by a widow and three sons and two daughters. – kbz
