Source: Iva Lewis Obituary Scrapbook
Miss Edna Hadley, daughter of
the late Thomas and Mary Ann Hadley, died at the home of her uncle, Hiram
Lindley, Sunday, May 31, at 8 p.m. Miss Lindley was about 21 years old and had
been a sufferer from consumption for the past year. She had the best of care
and medical attention but all to no avail. She was a young lady of pleasing
disposition and unapproachable character and her death is a severe loss to her
numerous friends. Her mother died about five years ago and her mother two years
afterward, since which time she has made her home with relatives. The funeral
was held Tuesday morning, at 10 o’clock, at Rush Creek Church, the funeral
sermon, being preached by Rev. Flora Halliday of Carmel, Ind., and the remains
were laid to rest in Rush Creek Cemetery. The Star joins with the friends in
extending sympathy to bereaved relatives. –
