WILLIAMSPORT — Helen C. (Pearl)
Haddock, 71, 429 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, died at 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11,
2006 in her residence following an illness with cancer. She was born Oct. 12,
1934 in Lafayette, the daughter of John Paul and Martha (Snouwaert) Pearl. She
married R. Wayne Haddock Aug. 8, 1953 in Attica. He survives. She was raised in
Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1953. She moved to Williamsport
in 1959. She worked as a nurses aide for the former Community Hospital and
later for St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She retired from nursing in March
2003 after working for 30 years at the hospital. She was a member of St.
Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed antique refinishing. Survivors,
besides the husband, include: seven sons, Russell “Rusty” Haddock, William
“Bill” (Christy) Haddock and Tom Haddock, all of Williamsport, Jerry (Penny)
Haddock, Attica, Donnie (Vicki) Haddock, Crawfordsville, Tim (Tammy) Haddock,
Attica, and Ronnie Haddock, Williamsport; a daughter, Christy (Scott) Garrett,
Attica; two sisters, Jean (Joseph) Brickler, Brownsburg and Catherine Young,
Benton, Mo.; a brother, Tom Pearl, Attica; a half brother, Jack Pearl,
California; 15 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stephen Andrew Haddock; a
brother, Gerald Pearl; two sisters, Norma Pearl and Mary Patricia “Pat” Pearl;
and a half sister, Margaret Leath. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. tonight
(Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with rosary services being recited at
4:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Xavier
Catholic Church in Attica with the Rev. David Hellman officiating. Burial will
be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to
