Attica, Ind. - Mrs. Iva Hacker, 80, a former resident of Attica, died at 4:32 a.m. today (May 1, 1969) at the Tall Trees Nursing Home in Covington. She had been a patient there since December 1967. She had been ill since May 15, 1966. Born Sept. 14, 1888, near Mulberry in Clinton County, she was the daughter of Hugh A. and Mary E. Hamilton. She had formerly resided at Monon, Ind., before coming to Attica in 1928. She was married in 1908 to Charles L. Hacker, who died in 1937. Mrs. Hacker had owned a rooming house in Attica for several years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Theodore of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Jean M. Shawley of Bangor, Maine; eleven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EDT Sunday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. The Rev. Darold Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Fair Haven Cemetery near Mulberry. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. -- typed by BR
