HAAS, Melvin "Bennie" - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Melvin “Bennie” Haas of Hillsboro, formerly of Veedersburg, age 69, died Wednesday afternoon, December 15, in Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. He was born in Fountain County, January 26,1913, the son of Roy and Carrie King Haas. September 8, 1939, he married Winifred Taylor, who survives. A member of Sterling Christian Church, he was a retired employee of Leath Furniture at Danville, Illinois.

   Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Croft of Hillsboro; three sons, Joe and Terry, both of Veedersburg, and Eric of Crawfordsville; a stepdaughter, Patricia Bryant of Lafayette; a stepson, Jack Richardson of Erlanger, Kentucky; three sisters, Maxine Fix and Alura Dodrill, both of Veedersburg and Marie Rennick of Williamsport; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren

  Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Bill Ringgold officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. - thanks so very much to "S" for all her work on the obits
