ATTICA — Catherine E. (Eubank) Gustus, 79, of south of Attica, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She was born May 31, 1921 near Mellott. She married Howard P. Gustus, at her parents' home, near Hillsboro, July 16, 1955. He survives. She was a 1940 Hillsboro High School graduate and attended Merritt Business School of Oakland, Calif. Since 1957, she had been a Rob Roy area resident. She worked for Snyder Associates Engineering until 1955. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and a former member of the Shawnee Township Home Economics Club, where she was a past president. She taught Sunday School when she was a member of the Attica Christian Church. Survivors, besides the husband, include: a son Paul D. (Dustene) Gustus, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Heather and Maxwell; and a sister, Virginia (Jim) Emerick, West Point. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Don Williams and Jeff Mayfield officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery Memorial donations may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church or the American Diabetes Association Society. – jlr
