Alice C. Gunderson, 60, of 3851 Rome Dr., Lafayette, died at 10:18 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 1996 in Home Hospital, where she had been a patient one week. Born July 31, 1935, in Fountain County, she spent most of her life in the Tippecanoe County area and graduated from Stockwell High School in 1953. She recieved her bachelor's degree in 1957 and her master's degree in 1958, both from Ball State University. Mrs. Gunderson was a school teacher for 27 years. She formerly taught at Battle Ground, Michigan City, Lauramie, Wainwright, and McCutcheon. She retired from McCutcheon in 1986. She was a member of Indiana Retired Teachers Association and International Peace Garden and was on the board of directors of International Music Camp. She married Jerry H. Gunderson in Stockwell on Aug. 13, 1961. He survives. Also surviving, are: one son, Matthew Gunderson of Lafayette; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Wogerman of San Bernadino, Calif. Private services on Tuesday. Interment Tippcanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Soller-Baker funeral directors in charge of arrangements. – jlr
