Arlie L. Gumert of Portland Arch, age 91, died Sunday morning, November 29, at Covington Manor Nursing Center. He was born in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, July 8, 1890, the son of Charles and Emma Clawson Gumert. A life resident of Portland Arch, he managed the family farm until 1976.
Survivors include five cousins, Leonard Clawson of Medford, Oregon, Charles Clawson of Covington, Mary Prather of Perrysville, Joe Marion Pierson of Hammond and Elsie Rector of Coatesville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Fountain Christian Church in Portland Arch with Rev. Glenn Ray officiating. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery. Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
