WILLIAMSPORT — Millicent “Millie” Yvonne Guck, 72, Williamsport, formerly of Perham, Minn., died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 in Perham Memorial Hospital, Perham, Minn. She was born July 17, 1934 in Elmore, Minn., the daughter of William and Minerva Evans. She was married to Herb Chartraw. She later married David Guck in 1978 in Perham, Minn. He survives. She attended country school in rural Elmore and graduated form Elmore High School. With her early interest of fishing, water skiing, and camping, she and her then husband, Herb Chartraw, purchased Kingswood Resort on Star Lake in 1972. They ran the resort with the help of their two younger sons, Dennis Chartraw and Steven Gabbard. She and Dave Guck enjoyed bowling and playing softball together. She enjoyed playing tennis and in the early 1980s, she developed a passion for golf which continued up until recent health conditions limited her ability. On Aug. 4, 1993, her son's birthday, she shot a hole in one while playing golf in Attica. Survivors, besides the husband of Williamsport, include: her son, Steven (Meridee) Gabbard, Perham, Minn.; a grandson, Zachary Gabbard, Perham, Minn.; a granddaughter, Courtney (Shane) Were, Frisco, Colo.; three step sons, Dennis (Ruth) Chartraw, Anchorage, Ark., Michael (Margaret) Chartraw, Monticello, Minn., and Steve Chartraw, Texas; five sisters, Avis (Ron) Schroeder, Bena, Minn., Barb (Donald) Anderson, Vergas, Minn., Kathleen DiNio, Faribault, Minn., Dorothy (James) Varno, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Monica (Nick) Roney, Collins, Iowa; and four brothers, Bill Evans, Wells, Minn., Michael (Arleen) Evans, Crystal, Minn., Neil Evans, Arlington, Minn., and Joel (Brenda) Evans, Swea City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Evans. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating.
