VEEDERSBURG — Benjamin F. Grundon, 81, Veedersburg, died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Born March 14, 1918, in West Salem, Ill., he was the son of B. Frank and Susan Discher Grundon. He married Marie Furr Keller Jan. 28, 1966, who survives. He served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a heavy equipment operator for Local 841 of Terre Haute. He was a member of the American Legion Post 288 of Veedersburg, the Attica V.F.W. and the Attica Eagles. Survivors, besides the wife, include: sons, John Grundon, Olney, Ill., Ben Grundon, Willis Spring, Mo., Bob Grundon, Palestine, Ill.; a daughter, Sue Grundon, Florida; stepsons, David (Marilyn) Keller, Perrysville, Don (Sharon) Keller, Veedersburg; brothers, Warren Grundon, Ontario, Canada, Doyle Grundon, Sioux City, Iowa; a sister, Lucille Handegard, Bethesda, Md.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a stepson, two sisters, and four brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Tim Auter officiating. Burial was in Bonebrake Cemetery. Military services were conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. – jlr
