GRUBBS, Eugene Alexander - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Eugene "Gene" Alexander Grubbs, 74, Hillsboro, died 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Grubbs worked as a farmer and Angus cattle breeder. He and his wife owned and operated Grubbs Insurance Company, Hillsboro, where Gene was an insurance agent, real estate agent and insurance crop adjuster. His memberships included the Board of Directors at Hillsboro State Bank, Bank of Western Indiana  and Old National Bank Indiana Beef Association and Indiana Angus Association, serving as president in 1972. He was a member and Deacon of Hillsboro Christian Church and served on the Church Board and as Treasurer since 1981.  He was born March 23, 1931 at Fountain County to Alexander and Minnie McDonald Grubbs.  He graduated from Perrysville HS in 1949. On March 29, 1953 he married Janet S. Livingston in Hillsboro Christian Church. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters: Diana (Brian) Williams, Crawfordsville; Cheryl (Jim) Mulherin, Fishers; a son, Dale Grubbs, Hillsboro; two brothers, Robert and Paul Grubbs, both of Covington and three grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Sunday at Hillsboro Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Brian Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
