VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) — James Ernest Grubb, 71, of Veedersburg, died at 1:50 a.m. today (April 29, 1976) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient three weeks and ill two years. Born March 20, 1905, in Fountain County, he was the son of Granville P. and Mary B. Maiden Grubb, On Aug. 28, 1929, he married Doris Craig, who survives. A life resident of Fountain County, he was a 1924 graduate of Covington High. He had been a resident of Veedersburg since 1937. He was a farmer in early life and had been a construction worker for many years. He had worked as greens keeper at Sky Valley Golf Course at Hillsboro four years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Laborers and Hod Carriers Local 274 at Lafayette and the old Kentuck Baptist Church. His hobbies were golf, bowling and horseshoe. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Deloris) Clodfelder of Danville Route 4 and Mrs. Norman (Linda) Allen of Covington; a son, Ernest of Covington Route 1; three brothers, Theodore, Granville Jr. and Charles, all of Covington; a sister, Mrs. Chester (Reatha) Powell of Covington Route 1; nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with the Rev. James Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery south of Veedersburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. -- typed by Walt W

Veedersburg – James Ernest Grubb, 71 of Veedersburg died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been in ill health two years. He had farmed in his early life and was a construction worker for many years. He had worked as greenskeeper at Sky Valley Golf Course at Hillsboro before retiring in 1970.  He was born in Fountain County and was a life resident. He graduated from Covington HS and had lived at Veedersburg since 1937. He married in 1929 Doris Craig and she survives.  Mr. Grubb was a member of Old Kentuck Baptist Church and Laborers and Hod Carriers Local 274 at Lafayette. Also surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Delores Clodfelder of Danville, Ill and Mrs. Linda Allen of Covington; one son, Ernest of Covington and one sister, Mrs. Reatha Powell; and three brothers, Theodore, Granville Jr and Charles Grubb, Jr, all of Covington. - kbz
