Newtown - Harl S. Grubb, 78, died early Saturday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where he had been a patient for three days. He was a retired employee of National Homes in Lafayette. Mr. Grubb attended schools in Kentucky and was a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church. He was born July 27, 1893, at Vine Grove, Ky., the son of Tom and Lema Funk Grubb. He was married to Minnie Clark Oct. 12, 1912, who preceded him in death May 11, 1945. He was then married to Eva Cox on Feb. 24, 1949, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Leslie C. Grubb of Newtown, three stepson, Lawson Cox and Howard Cox, both of Morocco, Ind., and Maurice Cox of San Diego, California, 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, five sisters and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro. Rev. Walter C. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler-Black Cemetery near Wingate. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday

Harl S. Grubb, 78, of Newtown, died Saturday morning (Feb 12 1972) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been hospitalized three days. Born July 27, 1893, at vine Grove, Ky., he was the son of Tom and Lema Funk Grubb. On Oct 12, 1912, he married Minnie Clark, who died May 11, 1945. He then married Eva Cox on Feb 24, 1949. She survives. He had resided in Jackson Heights from 1913-1932 and in Newtown since that time. He was a member of the Newtown United Methodist church and had retired from National Homes in Lafayette in 1956. Survivors include a son, Leslie c. of Newtown; three step sons, Lawson Cox and Howard Cox, both of Morocco and Maurice Cox of San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, five sisters and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at the Crumley-Williams funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Walter C. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Black Cemetery near Wingate. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.

Newtown – Harl S. Grubb 78 of Newtown died this morning in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Born in Vine Grove, Ky he moved to Jackson Heights in 1913 and to Newtown in 1932. Mr. Grubb was first married in 1912 to Minnie Clark to died in 1945. In 1949 he married Eva Cox and she survives. A member of the Newtown United Methodist Church he was an employee of National Homes Corp, Lafayette until retiring in 1956.  Surviving with the widow are a son, Leslie C. of Newtown and three stepsons, Lawson and Howard Cox both of Morocco and Maurice Cox of San Diego, Calif.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Funeral service there 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Walter C. Williams officiating. Burial in Wheeler Black Cemetery near Wingate. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, five sisters and a brother.
