COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Kate B. Groves, 79 of 116 Crockett St., died at 10:40 p. m. Tuesday (Oct. 13, 1959) at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient one day following a one-year illness. Born May 16, 1880 in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Squire Owen and Mary Hasting Hickman. She was married to Walter Groves, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1953. Mrs. Groves had been a life resident of the Covington community and was the last member of a family of 12 children. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Tanner, with whom she made her home; a foster-son, Ivan Hayden Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; a grandson and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three children. Services will be at 1 p. m. Satur-Funeral Home. The Rev. Noah Beadle will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends will be received after noon Friday. --typed by Walt W
