Jewell Grimes was born March 6, 1903 at Milligan, Ind to James G. and Gillie Ann Smith Pyle. She married James W. Grimes on June 4, 1922.  He died May 20, 1976. Mrs. Grimes was a member of the Yeddo Baptist Church and a 50-years member of the Eastern Star of Wallace, Chapter 415.  She graduated from Kingman HS in 1921. Surviving are a son, the Rev. James W. Grimes, Jr of English, Ind; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Joann) Gooding of Wallace and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Larsh of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, a grandson, and a great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will occur at Waynetown Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday.
