Paul M. Grimes, 56, of Eansville a former area resident was pronounced dead on arrival at 2:25 a.m. Monday, Dec 9 at Deaconess Hosp in Mr. G. had operated a heating/pluming business in Hillsboro until 1956 when he moved to Ev. and taught Ev. North HS. In 1969, he became supt. of the physical plant at IS U campus at Evansville. Born near Wallace January 31, 1918 he was the son of William O. and Lula Myers Grimes. He married Audrey Maycock in 1945 in Nottingham, England. She survives. Others include his father of RR 1, Hillsboro, a sister, Mary Elizabeth Grimes of RR 1, Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Grimes was a Vet of WWI, serving in radio communications in the Air Corps stationed in England and Germany. Member of Hillsboro American Legion Post, Vet of Foreign Wars in Evansville, Wallace Masonic Lodge 495, Wallace Low 12 Club and Scottish Rites, Valley of Evansville. He graduated from Wallace HS in 1936, attended Purdue University and graduated from ISU. Services were held today (Thurs) at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. Karl Korbel officiating. Burial was in Wallace Lutheran Cemetery.
