Waynetown - Emma Jane Grimes, 84, widow of Charles A. Grimes, died Thursday morning in a Logansport Hospital. She had been in failing health five years and seriously ill one month. Born Dec. 6, 1873, in Fountain County, three miles north of Wallace, Mrs. Grimes was the daughter of John and Clarinda Philpott Livengood. She married Mr. Grimes Sept. 19, 1891 at Hillsboro. The husband died Aug. 6, 1938. Mr. and Mrs. Grimes began housekeeping on a farm near Hillsboro where they lived until Mr. Grimes death. Mrs. Grimes continued her residence there until 1943 when she moved to Crawfordsville. Her home in Crawfordsville was at 701 S. Washington St. Mrs. Grimes as a member of the First Christian Church in Crawfordsville. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Helen Grimes of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Edna Munns, also of Waynetown; a brother, Omer Livengood of near Hillsboro, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown. Burial will be at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Rev. John R. Servies will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m. Friday.
