Dayton—Henry L. Griffith, 58, 274 Dayton Road, Dayton, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 1989 in Home Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient one month.
He was born Jan. 14, 1931 in Corbin, Ky. He moved to the Lafayette area from Kentucky in 1950 and the past two years he had lived near Dayton. He was married Nov. 20, 1954 in Lafayette, to Wanda Cupp, who survives.
He was construction worker with Laborers Union 274 and had worked for Russell F. Davis. He retired due to ill health in 1982 from J. E. Benson Construction Co.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Darrell E., Michael L., and David A., all of Lafayette, and Terry L., Chalmers; two sisters, Mrs. Phil (Mae) Meredith, Rossville, and Edna Baileff, Lafayette; four brothers, Donald, Camden; Albert, Pine Village; Clifford, Battle Ground, and Jack, Indianapolis, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today in Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with the Rev. Claude Crider officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. -s-
