Charles Voris GRENARD commission merchant at the Attica Stock Yards passed away at his Home in Lafayette Friday evening at 6:45 o'clock following an illness of pneumonia. Mr. G. was born near Wingate Oct 13, 1863 youngest son of Simeon & Abigail pioneer settlers of Montgomery Co. Mr. Grenard was married to Lucy Ann Twiddy July 24, 1886. He had been engaged in the live stock business 45 years starting at Wingate with the firm of Kerr & Grenard which later became Grenard & Carne. In 1908 he went to Lafayette and was in the commission business at Lafayette Stock Yards. 5 years ago he assisted in organizing the Attica Stock Yards and had been in charge of the commission business at the yards since. Besides the wife he is survived by one daughter Mrs. Roy H. Demoret of Lafayette; 3 brothers SJ Grenard, Waynetown; David R & John D, Wingate; two sisters, Mrs. Jon Potter, Tipton Ok; and Mrs. Margaret Hart, Centralia, Il. A funeral service was held at the home in Lafayette at 11:435 Monday forenoon, following which the body was taken to Wingate where another service was held at the Christian Church 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. Brown of Waynetown Baptist Church officiating; burial in Wingate Cemetery.
