Williamsport—John D. Greer, 83, Country Care Nursing Home Center, Williamsport, died at 8:37 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 1989 in Community Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. He had been a resident of the center since August.

He was born May 21, 1905 in Stilwell, Okla., the son of George Green and Georgia Carson Greer. He graduated from Stilwell High School and attended business college. He lived in St. Joseph, Mo., for a time and in Danville, Ill., for several years before moving to the center. He was married in 1930 to Sue Shannon, who survives.

He had been a retail buyer for Meis Department Store in Danville before retiring in 1986.

Surviving besides his wife is a son, Donald J., Williamsport.

There will be no service. Cremains will be interred in the family cemetery in Stilwell, Okla.
