Charles D. Greenman, 83, of 611 S. Perry St., Attica, died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 1980, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Danville. He had been ill two years. Greenman had worked 50 years as a superintendent of a cleaning room for Harrison Steel, retiring in 1966. A World War I Army veteran who served in France, he was a charter member and past commander of American Legion Post 52. He also was a 60-year member of the Attica Masonic Lodge 708 and had served as treasurer of the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club. He was a member of the First United Church of Attica. Greenman had resided in Attica since 1908. He was a 1915 graduate of the Attica High School and once worked for the Wabash Railroad. He was born Dec. 8, 1896, in Ann Arbor, Mich., son of Charles and Charlotte Murrey Greenman. He was married Dec. 22, 1928, in Herrin, Ill., to Mildred Seymour. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donna Tiger of Attica and Mrs. Ann Russell of Green Bay, Wisc., and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and a grandson. Services were held Tuesday morning at the Maus Chapel in Attica with the Revs. Marvin Jones and Otis Collier officiating. Burial in Riverside cemetery, Attica, with graveside military rites by the American Lesion Post of Williamsport. The family has asked that memorials be in the form of contributions to the Williamsport Community Hospital's cardiac care unit or to the donor's favorite charity.  --waw
