KINGMAN — Max Wayne Greene, 78, Kingman, died at 7:31 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 in Provena Healthcare, Danville, Ill. He was born April 25, 1929 in Parke County, the son of William E. and Mary (Crooks) Greene. He married Ginny Waltz May 5, 1956 in Crawfordsville. She survives. He was employed at Mid State Steel and Wire retiring in 1991 after 36 years of employment. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U. S. Army. He was a 1948 graduate of Green Township High School. He was a former member of Kingman American Legion Post #384. He loved being with his grandchildren and mowing. Survivors, besides the wife, include: four sons, William Ivery (Sondra) Green, Chipley, Fla., Richard Lee (Lori) Greene, Kingman, Scott Joseph (Stacey) Greene, Georgetown, ill., and Robert Kent (Kathy) Greene, Chipley, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Max Andrew Greene; his parents; two brothers, Kenny and Melvin Greene; and a sister, Jean Firestone. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Hall Funeral Home, Kingman, with Pastor Randy Holden officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Hollandsburg. – jlr
